Health and Wellbeing Buddies are local people who are employed and supported by RedbridgeCVS to connect residents and communities with local services, and help them to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.
Health and Wellbeing Buddies bring unique knowledge and understanding of local communities and speak a range of community languages. They work with local voluntary and community groups to share key messages, challenge stigma, and gather insight into the experiences and barriers faced by local residents. They also use their expertise and the insight they gather to improve services and influence change.
As a Health and Wellbeing Buddy you will do outreach in community venues across Redbridge, host interactive online workshops and help design digital campaigns. You will work across a range of health priorities including HIV, TB and vaccination uptake. You don’t need to have any existing expertise in health conditions or vaccinations as training will be provided.
