Women's Health Project
Championing the voices of local women, our Women's Health Project is split into 3 phases: cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening, and perimenopause and menopause.
In each of these phases we deliver targeted information sessions and speak to women about their experiences. Our findings will be taken to decision makers to help improve service provision for women across the borough.
Maternity and Neonatal Senior Advocate
The Maternity and Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate (also referred to as Maternity and Neonatal ISA or MNISA) is a new senior role to support women and families in England.
This role was developed by NHS England working alongside people who have experienced adverse outcomes.
If during your maternity or neonatal care in North East London you have experienced an adverse outcome you can go to a Maternity and Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate for support.
The Maternity and Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate for North East London is Dawn Hobson. Dawn trained as a nurse working within the NHS, continuing her career in teaching and research in palliative care for 13 years. Dawn has been a Project Officer with Healthwatch Redbridge, the Patient Champion, for 2 years leading two large Maternity and Neonatal service user feedback projects across NEL. Dawn is an independent advocate who knows the local NHS systems, and can support you to feel heard by those who have provided your care.

Accessible Information Standard: Know Your Rights
We have championed the use of the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) in health and care provision for over a decade. Working with our local authority and ICS to review the current provision of accessible information for people with communication support needs we listen to local people’s experiences to understand if services are doing what they are supposed to.
