We run a weekly drop-in for visitors who have a variety of Mental Health issues as well as being socially isolated.

Meeting time for events
  • Mondays 10.30 Knitting Group and Young at Heart
  • Tuesdays 10.30-12.30
Our Friendship First Drop-in provides an alternative drop-in with free refreshments and space for folk to listen and rest. Visitors can bring their own creative projects but we also provide puzzles and games for relaxation. We sometimes encourage sharing stories voluntarily, and link up by video with others that share their experiences of Mental Health struggles. We also provide space for spiritual reflection and offer a listening ear for those who want to talk about their spiritual journey and if requested, a personal prayer service.

Knitting Club is for anyone who wants to improve knitting skills with friendly conversation. It is attended by those who want to enjoy companionship but also by those whose first language is not English.

Young at Heart – A welcoming group for women and men over 55 who want to get out and make new friends.  Young at Heart provides a supportive setting for people to talk, enjoy quizzes and other games, and enjoy refreshments.  We welcome everybody, especially people who feel lonely and would enjoy some company. The group meets in the lounge of Ilford High Road Baptist Church (on corner of High Road and Green Lane). For information ring Gill Tyler on 07526 102854 or email: ihrbc@talktalk.net
