Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS)
Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) provide support to unpaid carers – carers can be mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends, relatives, spouses, partners or neighbours.
Mission
Our mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge by providing them with a range of services, support and recognition’.
- Provide appropriate, relevant, specialist information to carers on an individual or group basis on a range of issues, including access to services, respite and benefits.
- Offer breaks and time off from caring through training, social and other activities.
- Provide advocacy, advice, support and representation.
- Offer emotional support
- Reach ‘hidden’ carers (e.g. younger carers, carers from BME communities, marginalised carers) through targeted outreach.
- Consult with carers and professionals on a range of issues ensuring carers have a voice to influence services (via events, forums, workshops, focus groups, citizen juries etc.)
- Encourage & promote carers to participate in planning of carers services.
- Give carers a voice.
