What happens when you create a truly safe, culturally competent space and simply ask people what they need? The answer, it turns out, is that people show up — and keep coming back.

The Togetherness Café, delivered by Blossom Group ASA CIC with support from Healthwatch Redbridge's Community Cash Fund, ran over 10 weeks in Redbridge, bringing together residents from South Asian, African, and Afro-Caribbean communities to connect, share experiences, and access practical health and wellbeing support.

Healthwatch Redbridge is proud to share the final report from a project we funded, delivered by Sensory Specialists Ltd. Over six months, this initiative provided tailored, hands-on digital training to individuals with sensory impairments across our borough.

Healthwatch Redbridge has noted the announcement that Matthew Trainer, Chief Executive of Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), will be leaving the Trust in the coming months to take up a new role at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

We would like to thank Matthew for his dedication and leadership during his five-year tenure. Throughout this time, Healthwatch Redbridge has worked closely with Matthew and his team to ensure that the patient voice remains at the heart of hospital improvements.
